With each Standard Dedicated Server purchase we provide you 2 free hours of our highest level of support from our Managed Hosting team. Commercial Class servers receive 4 hours. These hours can be used to fully transfer your websites to our servers. In order to make sure 2 hours is plenty of time for you, please speak with our sales representatives.
Congestion – Server congestion is much less of an issue with a dedicated server, especially when compared to shared hosting options. With the latter, you often run the risk of congestion due to the traffic and usage levels of other websites or applications hosted on the same server, competing for bandwidth, disk space and CPU usage. The very nature of dedicated hosting ensures that this isn’t an issue. It also works the other way; if the website in question is resource heavy then dedicated hosting may be the answer to ensure that other websites aren’t disrupted.
This is a key mechanism for hosting buyers to determine which provider is offering the right pricing mechanism of bandwidth pricing.[according to whom?] Most Dedicated Hosting providers bundle bandwidth pricing along with the monthly charge for the dedicated server. Let us illustrate this with the help of an example. An average $100 server from any of the common dedicated bandwidth providers would carry 2 TB of bandwidth. Suppose you purchased 10 servers then you would have the ability to consume 2 TB of bandwidth per server. However, let us assume that given your application architecture only 2 of these 10 servers are really web facing while the rest are used for storage, search, database or other internal functions then the provider that allows bandwidth pooling would let you consume overall 20 TB of bandwidth as incoming or outbound or both depending on their policy. The provider that does not offer bandwidth pooling would just let you use 4 TB of bandwidth, and the rest of the 16 TB of bandwidth would be practically unusable. This fact is commonly known by all hosting providers, and allows hosting providers to cut costs by offering an amount of bandwidth that frequently will not be used. This is known as overselling, and allows high bandwidth customers to use more than what a host might otherwise offer, because they know that this will be balanced out by those customers who use less than the maximum allowed.

CentOS is the most popular version of Linux for web servers. It is an open-source Linux distribution derived from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), but it is not affiliated with Red Hat, Inc. With its fast-growing base of users and community contributors, CentOS is constantly tested and updated to ensure that its users have a stable, secure and high-performance hosting environment.

24/7 U.S. based Premier Support™ is included with every dedicated server. This team is here to answer your support questions and ensure your server stays online. However, since optional root access is provided, there are limits to what Premier Support™ can help you with. Yes! You are able to upgrade your current account to a Dedicated Server at any time. We would apply any amount left on your current contract to the cost of the upgrade and we will move everything for you for free from your current account to the new server. Keep in mind since you would be moving from one server to another, a small amount of downtime can occur during the process. We will work with you to make it as painless as possible.

Indeed you don't - because renting one dedicated server box that you can run two full 80-man Squad servers on doesn't cost that amount of money; more like +/- $150, the exact amount depending on who you go with / what sort of rig you want to rent. If you only want to run one 80-man server, for example, you can go for a cheaper package and get one for around $100.
I have been in / been part of the beginning of several communities in this game, and am currently part of the staff for a UK clan, and one of the few with direct access to our box. I have been part of this game's community for the past few years. I know others who have been hosting their own servers for the game since it was possible to do so. And to call me out here as "not being so smart" with all the flat-out idiotic crap you're posting, here? Hilarious.
Hi Guys. For quite some time my community has been renting a normal game server for hosting our RP server. We are now thinking about getting a dedicated server box to expand our community as well as wanting our current server to have less lag and able to handle more player slots. We have tried a variety of hosts and think it's time to move to a dedicated server. Now to my point, is there any good dedicated server host's out there that you can recommend and that you have heard of that are good. Hopefully that are not too expensive as well. The dedicated server box must be in either the UK or Europe. The server will only need to run 1 or 2 servers so it won't need state of the art features. I appreciate the help.

But a company looking for more power and control may need a service provider who offers dedicated hosting. With dedicated hosting, a client rents a server from a dedicated hosting provider, and has exclusive use of that server’s resources. The provider works with the client to give them the CPU, RAM, and disk space that they need. The provider builds and maintains the server, eliminating a  business’ upfront cost of purchasing their own.
Rackspace is considered the top when it comes to hosting. This is because their sites never go down, and they let you work out a custom quote for your space needs. However, if you are a smaller outfit, Rackspace is likely going to be a little bit too much. If you are a bigger business or want a server that can be partitioned into multiple purposes, this is the right way to go.
So you Start stands out from other providers as it's willing to offer you, in exclusivity, unique technologies, such as network, hardware, virtualization and computing technology. You will be amongst the first to test out cutting-edge solutions and integrate them into your infrastructures. So You Start is the meeting point between the best, market-approved technologies and the most vital innovations.

Dedicated servers are all about what you want to do. Instead of sharing a server through shared hosting, all of the space is dedicated to what you are going to build. Dedicated server space is sold by hosting providers for various rates that can range from $45 to $250 plus. Mostly this depends on the size of the server, but some hosting providers will throw in a few extra things to entice you to sign up.
So to anyone reading this: NO, you don't need a 500$ box to run a server, You can rent a server from a hosting company you don't even have to go with the one I am with. Yes 80 Full slotted servers take a ton of resources but not 12-16 gigs of ram. But you will be paying around 100$ for your server with 80 slots. For people looking for small 30 slot servers its cheap affordable and I have no problems.
A dedicated server allows a client the flexibility of customizing the server to the clients unique needs for CPU, RAM, disk space and software. With shared hosting, a customer is limited to the applications, software and operating environment already loaded on the server. They may either offer software a client doesn’t need or lack things that they do.
We’re pleased to offer you a wide range of management options that will suit all your server needs. Choose from User-Responsible (where you manage everything on your own), Basic (where Namecheap manages nearly everything), or Complete (where Namecheap manages it all). If you require root access, please choose from our User-Responsible or Basic options.

Choosing a Dedicated Server provides you with the highest level of performance, allowing for peak performance for your web applications. The OP claims that you need about 16 GB for one server, and an additional 8 GB per extra instance you want to run. This is in line with the amount of RAM the system itself will take up combined with the amount of RAM the game server will be using up after you've left it running for a couple of days. The game is - yet again - still not fully optimised, and there are still some mem. leaks present. If you don't believe me, yet again - go to the Squad Hosting Discord and ask for some usage graphs. Most of the time this amount of RAM won't be a necessity, but you could have performance issues if your RAM fills up. Not that it matters, as the dedicated boxes you'll be looking to rent will all offer more than 16 GB, anyway.
Customisation – Dedicated hosting grants a certain freedom and control that other hosting solutions are unable to provide. The fact that the server is dedicated to one client and there are no cohabitants means that the server (and overall hosting solution) can be tailored to the specific needs of that client. This ensures that they can select and pay for the features that they require.

We do offer hardware customizations on existing Dedicated servers but it is recommended you add them on at the initial purchase as any hardware changes once the server is active would result in downtime for your server. The cost varies depending on the upgrades. Contact our Sales team for prices. Hardware configuration options differ depending on data center location.
A gaming server is a dedicated server used for online games such as World of Warcraft or Minecraft. The benefit of a dedicated server for gaming is that your server is often more stable than the game client itself, which is impacted by multiple players and resources. For a smooth gaming experience that you control, a dedicated server is the way to go.
