You should not have any congestion on a dedicated server, since you are on a dedicated server. With shared hosting, you may have other websites taking up bandwidth on the server and even crashing it if something suddenly goes viral on their website. With your hosting provider and a dedicated server, the only congestion should be felt is if you have gone viral.

You can find Linux-based and Windows-based dedicated servers on Liquid Web. Another benefit is that there is no shared hosting through Liquid Web, so whenever you purchase a plan, you are getting your own dedicated host and server. There are a number of different configurations to choose from, including a high-end, dual-core processor that starts at $859/month.
Known as a "Redundant Array of Independent Disks," this method combines several hard disk drives into one unit, combating data redundancy and improving performance. Featuring fault tolerance (what enables a system to continue operating even if it fails) and a higher capacity/volume, data gets distributed in “RAID levels,” which is dependent on the specific level of required redundancy and performance. Hello everyone one of my friends host a server often and he has a extra tower that he can host a actual server. Thing is we dont think its possible. Him and I would like to talk to the game dev about this. So if anyone knows how to get in touch with the dev I would love to know. Pass this on because even the possiblity to host 15+ player could actually draw traction for the game and maybe bring it up to the light of other survival companys.

Starts with a brief interview to assess your software requirements and determine which server or upgrades would optimize your workload. In this case we recommend starting with 3 Elite Dedicated Servers – two front-end servers for better performance and failover between them with the third as a database server. We help you setup your CDN account (CloudFlare, Incapsula, etc.) to load balance the cluster and provide the best worldwide connection without costing you a fortune. As your business grows, we can add additional front-end servers for better performance and additional database servers for improved redundancy.
A Dedicated Server is a physical server that allows you to have exclusive access to its resources. Choosing a Dedicated Server provides you with the highest level of performance, allowing for peak performance for your web applications. As a single tenant, you can expect to enjoy full control in optimizing, curating an environment tailored your business.
Cloud servers can be configured to provide levels of performance, security and control similar to those of a dedicated server. But instead of being hosted on physical hardware that’s solely used by you, they reside in a shared “virtualized” environment that’s managed by your cloud hosting provider. You benefit from the economies of scale of sharing hardware with other customers. And, you only pay for the exact amount of server space used. Cloud servers also allow you to scale resources up or down, depending on demand, so that you're not paying for idle infrastructure costs when demand is low.

To date, no industry standards have been set to clearly define the management role of dedicated server providers. What this means is that each provider will use industry standard terms, but each provider will define them differently. For some dedicated server providers, fully managed is defined as having a web based control panel while other providers define it as having dedicated system engineers readily available to handle all server and network related functions of the dedicated server provider.

Support – Some dedicated hosting services come with a certain level of support. This is important as a high percentage of dedicated hosting customers use the service to host mission critical or important computing functions or websites. Effective support ensures that site disruption is kept to a minimum. A fully managed hosting provider, for example, may offer support 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.

Ok, buddy, are you having an aneurism? This thread wasn't made to promote anyone or anything - it was made to dispel misleading bullcrap from shitty, unscrupulous GSPs and try and encourage more people getting a dedicated box, after the constant pain we regularly see when yet another poor sap gets crap performance with no refund after cancellation of service from a GSP in the Squad server host community. Time and again we see the same complaints from people, about the same companies that prey on people with little technical know-how that just want to run a game server.
Can that be blamed on the server host? If you have a dedicated server, you're responsible to keep your software up-to-date and protect it. The company is only responsible for hardware faults.
They don't pack a line firewall without hefty (£20/m + £150 setup costs) Though, I personally think the problem was Fizzadar having RD passwords in his email, which he used the same password for as the password he used when he registered to RoleNation.
Update: You can test their network via their websites IP (162.216.176.6). Zeneva are currently offering the below dedicated server as a low end box exclusive. They’re a registered Limited Liability Corporation in Florida. They offer a 100% Uptime Guarantee on their network and power. IPV6 is being added shortly now available. LEB Dual Intel Xeon […]
Does the hosting provider have both Linux and Windows options? Does it allow you to allocate space as you wish? Basically, is the hosting provider truly providing a dedicated server? In some cases, hosting providers sell “private servers” that still share space with other cohabitants. You want a dedicated server that is completely your own to customize and control.
I don't know what you are smoking but it must be something good. I am on a Shared box and I have no idea what the CPU or ram cap is for what I am on. I am with Ascendservers and they are just a normal hosting company. I pay 43.50 USD for 50 players where we have scrims within our group. I am not even using 2 Gigs of Ram or even 5% of the CPU with 5 players in it. I bet you Ark takes more power to run than Squad. I asked them and they said its a OVH Box.
If you are a Linux master, then you probably will not need that much additional help. However, it is nice to get started up as fast as possible using some of the customized features of certain hosting providers. For example, Media Temple provides a control panel so that it is easy to monitor your website’s performance. You can install web monitoring tools on your own as well.
Oh, and let's not forget what else you get for paying a little less, with most game hosting providers - abysmal service, avoidance of the truth and attempts to shift blame when confronted with performance issues while still taking in money, then refusing refunds when all's said and done and people learn their lesson, and cancel their service with you.
Depending on your needs, Namecheap offers 3 types of Server Management: User-Responsible, Basic, and Complete. User-Responsible requires that the user takes full responsibility for server management. Basic is where core services are monitored by Namecheap with a proactive response if unexpected server failure occurs. Complete is where Namecheap runs and manages all server, software, and component services. Keep in mind Basic and Complete Managements are only available to those who have operating systems CloudLinux or CentOS and cPanel installed.

Providers often bill for dedicated servers on a fixed monthly price to include specific software packages. Over the years, software vendors realized the significant market opportunity to bundle their software with dedicated servers. They have since started introducing pricing models that allow dedicated hosting providers the ability to purchase and resell software based on reduced monthly fees.
